Lydie Vick

Board Member

Bio: Lydie Vick has done theatre for 41 years. (would you believe she started when she was 2????) OK....5????? - ANYWAY - Lydie has done every aspect of theatre, from sweeping the floor to directing and producing. She has performed on stage in various roles, but truly prefers NOT to be in the "limelight" - the soft glow of backstage blues or the frosted lights of the light booth are much more to her liking. Being very "family oriented", Lydie finds that the fun she finds by working at Black Rose is greatly enhanced by the fact that her son and daughter-in-law are also very active in the group, and many of her Black Rose "friends" have become her Black Rose "family".

Raymond Reed

Board Member

Bio:

Raymond Reed has lived in the Brandon area for 18 years. He began his involvement in theatre way back during his college days. He also participated in community theatre while in college. He has played different rolls in various musicals but prefers working behind the scenes and not on stage.

Oddly enough, it wasn't Raymond himself, who opened the doors of Black Rose to the entire Reed family - Raymond's daughter auditioned for a show at Black Rose, and as the Reed family usually does, the whole family jumped in with both feet and lots of enthusiasm, became involved - and quickly became a part of the Black Rose Theatre family. Raymond and his wife, Wendy, can usually be seen backstage or working the box office, while their two daughters, Audrey and Brooke, love to be on the stage, but are also willing to work in other capacities. With the Reeds, theatre is truly a "family affair".

Renee Lovett

Board Member

Bio: Renee is no stranger to the theatre. She has had the pleasure of being involved back stage and on stage at Black Rose and other local community theatres for the past 7 years. She resides in Brandon and has worked as an Oil and Gas Bookkeeper for 17 years with the same company and is the owner of a small resale shop on the outside of Brandon. She gladly helps out with needed props from her shop. Renee is fortunate enough to have three lovely children, who also have a passion for the theatre and many of the other arts. It is not surprising to see one or all three of her children, as well as Renee herself, in the same production or scattered all over the theatre community. Renee says “ I agreed to be part of the board, if elected, because Black Rose is my home. It is where we started all those years ago and I want to give more than just our stage talents back to the theatre. This old theatre needs some love and care and I would like to be one of the many that want to give it to her.”
